Moot Court & Trial-advocacy Activities

The IMS Law College has been organizing number of moot court competitions at a regular interval of 15 days to test the mettle of the future lawyers of the country in the recent time. Recently, Inter College Moot Court Competition was organized at Moot Court Room. A large number of students participated in the competition and they submitted their memorials, on either side of plaintiff or defendant and argued their case accordingly. Moot court problem covered the subject of Indian Contract Act-I. More than 10 teams participated. Yamini Vats, Priyanka Tiwari (Mooters) and Prianka Ghildayal (Researcher) (B.A; LL.B VIII semester) emerged as winner of the Moot Court Competition.

1st Online National Moot Court Competition

IMS Law College Noida is organizing 1st Online National Moot court Competition on 28 June 2020. The competition aims at sharpening the advocacy, research and analytical skills apart from building confidence and team spirit.

1st Intra-moot Court Competition

Under the auspices of Moot Court Society, IMS Law College, Noida successfully organized its maiden Online Intra-moot Court Competition from 25th April 2020 to 27th April , 2020.

In the competition 8 teams participated. Their vigour and enthusiasm knew no bounds. The rich tapestry of arguments had colours of forcefulness and contentiousness. Finally, the team of Jatin sharma and Rahul Dwiwedi , LLB 1st year students were adjudged as Winner while the other team consisting of Akanksha Rajput and Kartika Singhi as the runner-up.

Intra-Trial Advocacy Competition

We at IMS Law College is trying to balance class studies with skill imparting exercise, so one can provide student’s the platform by which they can acquire skills which is needed in legal industry.

One of such exercise for law students is a moot court practical training exercise. Moot Court Society of IMS Law College took an initiative to organize a maiden Intra-Trial Advocacy Moot Court Competition 2020.It was a three day event which started on 26 February, 2020 and culminated on 28 February, 2020.

The event saw a participation of sixteen teams from Law College and they argued on hypothetical criminal case in the competition. During the three days of exercise students appeared in the hypothetical case as a Prosecution lawyer and Defense lawyer and used all the laws of procedure which is followed in the real case and court.

The first days of the event witnessed preliminary rounds second day saw the Quarter-Final and Semi-Final and the third day final was held. Team of Akshay and Amit LLB IV Semester student bagged the winner’s trophy and team comprising of Hariom and Dheeraj BA LLB VI and I Semester respectively bagged the Runner-up trophy. Some other prizes were also given like ‘Best Witness’ trophy which was bagged by Ayushi Amrit a student of VI Semester BA.LLB, ‘Best Cross-Examiner’ by Hariom a student of VI Semester BA.LLB. ‘Best Fresher Advocate’ was given to Anamika Thakur of B.A.,LL.B. semester I and ‘Best Chief-Examiner’ was given to Aryan Gupta of I Semester BA.LLB. All the participants of the event, convenors and coordinators were given certificates of appreciation.
